10 Tips For Selling Your Home

1. First Impressions
The entrance to your home must be neat and clean. If the front door needs to be cleaned
or painted, you should do it. Foyers and hallways should be clutter free and clean.
Most important your home should be comfortable-turn the air conditioner to a lower temperature.

2. Light is Better
Both natural and electric light emits a “Welcome” sign for buyers. Turn all lights on,
open blinds and drapes.

3. Stage It
A little low music is appealing. A pleasant clear air freshener (like cinnamon or citrus) is
a nice touch.

4. Condition Sells
Appliances, flooring, and wall coverings should be in tiptop condition. Kitchen and baths
should sparkle. The exterior of your home should be neat and clean. Flowerbeds weeded
and shrubs trimmed. Patio should be clean and power wash if necessary.

5. Clutter is not appealing
We all have pictures and knick-knacks that we love. However, when selling your home
less is more! Closets are important. Make them appear bigger by keeping them clean,
neat and organized.

6. Best Showings
Sometimes when a Seller is underfoot during a showing the Buyer feels like an intruder
and will rush through your house. It will really work to your advantage to be “out of the
way” while your home is being shown. Stay in one room, sit in on a porch or at a desk, or
leave your home. Let's let the Buyer take their time and really look at your home.

7. Appointments
We will try to give you as much notice as possible to show your home. However, many
of our buyers call us and want to see something almost immediately. It is our policy to
call first, if you’re not at home we’ll leave a message, then we'll show your home. We
never want to miss a showing.

8. Valuables
Put all your valuables (money, jewelry etc) in a safe place. We don’t want to tempt
anyone.

9. Furnishings
If you are selling your home with the furnishings prepare a complete list. We will make it
part of our Brochure.

10. Features of you Home
Help us accentuate what you love about your home. We will prepare a feature sheet for
the brochure itemizing those special features.
